The Moon's Cycle & U.S. Elections - Astrology Connects The Dots

In a recent note from friends, I realized I have not spoken on the influence of the Full and New Moons on elections in the USA.

Because of Friday's full moon at the critical degree of 29 Aries, my friends had asked if it had an effect on me. I am certain if you are a light-bearer, or even lightly conscious, you felt some of the anger and aggressive energy of this moon.

Twenty-Nine degrees is considered a critical degree in astrology, and even in numerology. It is the degree that says, get it right now before you are allowed to take the next step of a new energy field. To have a full moon fall at this degree is rare. (1 in 30 for a specific sign, and 1 in 360 for all twelve signs) So as we roll the cosmic dice, we see how this time in our creative universe is perfect for a critical moon in Aries.

As our solar system approaches the galactic center, all frequencies increase, and we must clear out the old ways and open to a new level of love.

Aries is the constellation that started it all. It is the beginning of the zodiac and represents the moment that, that ball of fire settled into an orbit around this sun, to become planet earth. It is a sign of new beginnings with the innocence of consciousness. Like children, the Aries consciousness can be aggressive and selfish. It considers only its needs and does not consider consequences before taking action.

The Full Moon in Aries at the critical degree of 29 excited this type of emotional response around the planet. It inflamed personal wants without considering others.

So I am certain if you reflect on how you felt yesterday, Oct. 22, 2010, you may find feelings of anger within or without you. The fact that in the Western Hemisphere, this took place on October 22 also carries significance because 22 is a master number noting that we must master the issues of the day, take control and bring balance, harmony and cooperation to the table.

So as we look at the upcoming national elections, does this have some significance?

Well, let's take a little stroll through history before answering that question.

The presidential election of 2010 took place under a new moon in Scorpio.

New moons bring in new beginnings and accentuate a new energy flow. In Scorpio there is an added statement of transformation of power. This moon signaled a transformation of our election process, a new wave of power and when you look at it, you can see how this has manifest been manifesting.

President Barack O'Bama is the first person ever elected through a poor people's process. It was the aggregate monies of small contributions coming through new marketing strategies of social networking that put him over the edge. On another level, more obvious, he is the first African-American to be elected president.

President John F. Kennedy was elected on November 8, 1960 under the influence of the October 31st full moon in Aries, like the one we had last night.  October 31, is not a master number moon, but the foreboding number 31, which is a four, indicating a control situation that might be fulfilled by aggression, violence and selfish unconscious issues.

Please note that nearly every election in this country takes place under either the full moon in Aries or Taurus or the new moon in Scorpio, because this is the time of year of these moons.

(If you have never considered how the moon moves through the constellations, here is a simple look. Each month the new moon is in the constellation you usually associate with that month, and the full moon will be in the sign exactly opposite. This varies slightly because the months are not really aligned with the constellations, but that is a way to ball park it.)

However, some people become president as a result of the death of the current president, so their day of  'election' is the day they take office. So some presidents may come under any moon.

Lyndon B. Johnson, became president on November 22, 1963, a master number day, and under the new moon in Scorpio of November 15, 1963. The twenty two day of his inauguration signified mastering issues of power, death, transformation, shared resources, taxation and the presidential cabinet. He started in office under the veil of a transformation, the death of President Kennedy. As Johnson took office, Americans were crying publicly over the loss of Kennedy, and anguish spread across this nation. President Johnson, one of the most under-publicized presidents, fulfilled the promise of this new master moon in Scorpio. Here is a quote about him from Wikipedia:

"...President, (Johnson) was responsible for designing the "Great Society" legislation that included laws that upheld civil rights, Public Broadcasting, MedicareMedicaid, environmental protection, aid to education, and his "War on Poverty." He was renowned for his domineering personality and the "Johnson treatment," his coercion of powerful politicians in order to advance legislation."
All of the statements above confirm the promise of a master new moon in Scorpio.

Let us look yet, at another presidential election.

Franklin Delano Roosevelt was elected on November 8, 1932 under the new moon in Scorpio of October 29, 1932.  Fascinating that the number 29 has a two fold significance, it is a critical number, and also a master number because it becomes an eleven when you add the digits together. The eleven is a master communicator, insightful, intuitive dreamer. FDR used a weekly radio talk, called his "Fireside Chat" to connect with the nation. He was the first, and as far as I know, the only President to use such a technique.

These numbers truly speak to his presidency because his election took place at one of the most critical times in our nation's history, and he masterfully communicated through airwaves and on paper. Here is a bit about his election from Wikipedia:

"The United States presidential election of 1932 took place as the effects of the 1929 Wall Street Crash and the Great Depression were being felt intensely across the country."

During his presidency, FDR, would start what he called the New Deal, which included numerous programs to offer relief for the unemployed, help recover a failing economy, and would regulate the banking industry, Wall Street and transportation.

I will take you through one more election, then come back to present day.

Stop here for a second and consider the facts you have read thus far, and see if you can guess the date and kind of moon that set the stage for the election of Abraham Lincoln.

Lincoln was elected on November 6, 1860, one hundred years before Kennedy, and both presidents were assassinated. Abraham Lincoln's election came under the influence of the full moon in Taurus of October 29, 1860. Once more we see the critical number of 29, and of course it carries the same influences seen above with FDR: critical time, master communicator. But here the sign is not in that of Scorpionic transformation, but in the fixed earth sign of values, income and possession: Taurus.

Abraham Lincoln's presidency would focus on the moral values of a nation and what rights a man has to possess or own another. This president would use the South's need for income to hold the country together by mandating all trading stop with the South.

Lincoln came to office as the nation was debating slavery. He was a great debater, and opposed the expansion of slavery. His presidency would revolve around the Civil War, and the issue of slavery. He  inflamed the argument by signing the Emancipation Proclamation, which freed only the slaves in Confederate States that did not return to Union control. This critical act of war would light the way to abolish slavery in America.

So what about this upcoming election, and the next presidential election? What can be told by the moons influence.

Under Friday's full moon in Aries at 29 degrees, remember this occurred on October 22, we will see an election engaged in an aggressive fight that critically calls for mastering balance and fairness. Those elected may be masters of the bi-partisan tongue. They will make breakthroughs and strike a cord with the original dreams of this nation.

The next presidential election will be held November 6, 2012, and will fall under the full moon of October 29, 2012 in the sign of Taurus. Do you see the similarities between this election date and the election of Abraham Lincoln?

I could go into a discussion of how the United States Chart has been following along the path of the charts that led to the French Revolution, but I will save that for some other time.

Instead, I will leave you with this. America is on the brink of choosing (the number six) its moral path again. What do we value? What do we hold dear and how will we align our income and possessions with our values? Shall we once more engage in a Civil War? Yes, it is increasingly possible.

As we have allowed our legislators to be controlled by monetary factions instead of the conscience of their constituency, we are collapsing the income stream of the middle class, and dividing America into a nation of rich and poor.

We have two years to work on this, to achieve some balance. But based on all the statistics, the affluence of the middle class is nearly gone and what is holding on has been propped in place. We have nothing but our word backing our currency, so the day may not be far off when others call the bluff, If that happens, and it takes wheelbarrows of dollars to buy milk; division will turn to revolution.

I know that's a lot to consider, but let me add some good news.

We are all in this propped up earth zone together. It is an international house of monetary and greed-directed cards that is about to implode, so in that is the key.

Values are escalating far beyond your tribe this time. They are approaching the solar system. As we activate frequencies in alignment with the galactic center, we must join the eco-system of the galaxy. We must love, cooperate and find solutions where we have never looked before - inside ourselves.

Practice love and you will see the light in this ever-darkening international tunnel.

Sarah Palin - Debater or Debutant? Aquarians Win 20% of US Presidential Elections

I know some of you like Palin - she is gutsy, challenging, courageous, interesting, quirky, unique, inventive, and in control.

She has qualities that many women admire, and attributes that many men desire.

A breath of fresh air many have said, and others consider it a terrific heat wave from the great northern ice queen.

Sarah Palin is an Aquarius by birth, and in many ways by aspect. She charges the chart of the United States by directly activating the U.S. Moon, and thus the people of the nation. She activates them emotionally, exciting them. She activates their curiosity and also makes them feel at home with her as their personal leader.

While Barack O'Bama's Leo Sun also activates the U.S. moon through a wide orb opposition, his Uranus electrifies the people dealing a close opposition while linking his South Node directly to the U.S. Moon. These indicate strong ties this man has to this country.

Barack O'Bama is someone who has been part of this nation in its founding time. His south node speaks of karmic ties to the people, and his North Node (one's karmic, or soul mission) is conjunct his Uranus, and they both closely conjoin the Midheaven of the United States chart. The significance of this cannot be understated. It tells of someone who returns from a mothering or founding time in the nation to bring forth a revolution, to clear out the emotional issues that block the dreams upon which the nation was founded. And to re-establish the international image that was the original revolution's dream.

America was born under an Aquarian moon, and you can see this influence throughout our society. We love the unique, unusual, inventive, and strange. Halloween is a favored holiday, as is April Fool's day. We celebrate ghouls and fools, tricks and pranks.

We are a nation that desires a genius, and we admire someone who stands out beyond the 'norm', someone who will speak their mind, carry their soapbox, and have defined values. Sarah Palin exemplifies what America desires through our Aquarian moon. While Obama electrifies, revolutionizes, and directs our Aquarian desires.

Here is a look at the five Aquarian Presidents:

8th President: William Harrison (whig) - died in office of natural causes
17th President: Abraham Lincoln (republican) - Assassinated
24th President: William McKinley (republican) - Assassinated
31st President: Franklin D. Roosevelt (democrat) - died in office of natural causes
35th President: Ronald Reagan (republican) - Suffered an attempted assassination

11 of the 55 times America has held a presidential election, we have elected Aquarians.

That is a whooping 20% of the time!

Franklin Delano Roosevelt is the only president ever elected four times.

In our history:
4 presidents have been assassinated. 2 were Aquarians.
4 presidents have died in office of natural causes. 2 were Aquarians.
4 presidents suffered assassination attempts. 1 was an Aquarian.

What does all this tell you?

It says we as a nation resonate to Aquarian leadership.

On a personal level, when someone's sun conjoins your moon, you feel an immediate attraction, you feel they are leaders, their ego is appealing, and you instinctively want to nurture them.

As a nation, the people of the country also relate.

Each of the presidents listed above either had a sun conjoining the U.S. Moon, or their Mercury conjoined the Moon, and they also had a wide orb or mid-point activation from their Sun and Venus.

Sarah Palin has Sun, Mars and Saturn activating our Moon. Will she create enough resonance to make America vote McCain?

This astrologer says unlikely.

I believe the Mars and Saturn issues will create enough of a reverse reaction that she will slide out of the race, and eventually out of view.

The fact that Palin's Saturn and Mars are on our Moon, at a time when the nation is at war, needs more structure, more discipline, and renewed energy; it is possible she will make us aware of these needs. But will we embrace her for it? Or will we learn because of her?

As an astrologer, I have looked at all forms of competitions seeking the winner. I have proven you cannot identify a winner in all races, and it is astrologically impossible to identify a winner in team sports. But about 70 to 80 percent of the time, you can use astrology to find the winner, if only a few individuals compete.

I have successfully proven that astrology cannot identify clear winners all the time, but it will identify a dead heat. If there is no dead heat, it can identify the winner.

Before Sarah Palin entered this race, there was no dead heat. Obama would be the clear victor. None of the other candidate's charts could activate America as strongly. But when Palin's chart entered the race, a competition began.

This highly-opinionated, odd and unusual beauty queen from far off Alaska has a planetary magnetic resonance that can wield the attention of this nation.

Ask me how I feel about that. Not so good.

After the Vice Presidential debate, this is what I came away with. I am quoting a comment I made on Buenos Burritos blog:

Sarah Palin, a Terrifying Choice - that's what I need to write on my car bumper.

I watched the debate and thought each time they flipped back between Biden and Palin, Joe (my husband) must have been switching channels from the VP debate to some beauty pageant contestant.

She had all the depth of a Miss America contestant, all the glam and all the wink. She sparkled, sassed, slighted, slid, slipped up and satisfied herself, giving only satisfaction to the small single minded conservative base that stirs around her.

The rest of us pray we will wake from this strange nightmare where a hockey mom, with a custom made Austrian rifle winks at us, while repeating the word maverick ten times. Then the camera pans back and we see she is seated behind the desk in the oval office. She turns to a man in the doorway saying; "First dude, give me a kiss."

In the background music plays, and Judi Collins sings - "That's right it's come to this. It's come to this. And wasn't it a long way down? And wasn't it a strange way down?"

Barack O'Bama & The 44th Presidency

First I want to congratulate America for exuding the consciousness it took to manifest a presidential candidate with vision, audacity, and integrity to be the Democratic nominee.

I know there are still many who doubt who Barack O'Bama is, but time will tell, and as an astrologer and metaphysician, I am elated to see the dramatic change that Barack's chart brings to the United States of America and to the world at large.

If you want to know more about what I see there, listen to the interview I did back in March with Dr. Rita Louise on Just Energy Radio, here is the link: http://www.podcastalley.com/podcast_details.php?pod_id=53809

Right now I want to say a couple of things about this particular presidential cycle, and this election year.

Why?

Because I love the Spiritual Law of Energy - "Universal energy is only expended at the exact moment it is needed."

This is an important law to remember, and one when we enter a space of danger and fear, we often forget.

I have witnessed for the last 50 years the decline of a nation who at one time stood high above the rest of the world - not in power - but in caring for its people and for the rest of humanity.

But since the second world war, we have devolved in many ways and grown in others (in the way of the individual superstars, these beings have opened a new channel to humanity consciousness.) But as a nation, it is a decline.

Now we stand at the precipice of the close of one cycle, one yuga, one type of consciousness, and will begin the path to choose freely the consciousness that each of us sets through our own belief systems. This is reflected in the American hierarchy - the 44th president.

This year is a cycle of 1 - 2008, add the digits together and you get 10, add those digits together and you get 1. Thus a cycle of one.

In the great scheme of cycles - one is a beginning but in the mystic definition it notes the arrival of an Ancient Communicator. An individual who has been many things in many incarnations, and now arrives to open the doors for manifestation to the world on many levels.

But before I leap into the 44th presidency and a look at the Democratic nominee, let us look at some important and perhaps reflective, past presidents.

Looking back at the year that Franklin Delano Roosevelt was elected in 1932 - (add the digits, 1+9+3+2= 15/1+5= 6) a six year. A year of a Social Gathering to make important choices.

FDR was elected the 32nd President of the United States. 3+2=5 A Bearer of Knowledge, a teacher, one who must teach the lessons of living in the present time, to stop the worrying, to stop the fear, and recycle thought forms toward what the people need and want instead of what they have feared.

This particular five (unlike the 41st president - George Bush Senior) is composed of the numbers: 3 and 2, the Nurturer/Keeper of the Hearth, and the Dreamweaver.

This indicates that he would bring these two qualities to the presidency, he would nurture the people, and help them open up to dream again.

I believe if you look at what FDR did, he fulfilled his numeric mission precisely. And interestingly enough his birth number is also five, so he was born to learn the very lessons that he would help heal in his mission as president.

Abraham Lincoln was elected the 16th president in the year 1860. A year that adds up to 15 and resolves as a 6. A time of choices whereby one must be a great communicator (1), and a repository of knowledge with the capacity to show the way past worry (5)

As the 16th president, Lincoln emphasizes the issues of communication (1) and choices (6) He was a president who must be persuasive in his communication while socializing to deliver the changes that would come in the years of 1861 (7) the number of change, swift and radical.

In 1863, (1+8+6+3 = 18 = 1+8 = 9) a 9 year, a year of endings, he issued The Emancipation Proclamation which would bring the first of many endings to slavery.

Lincoln was re-elected to the presidency in 1864, (1+ 8 + 6 + 4= 19 = 1 + 9 = 10 = 1 + 0 = 1) 1 year, bringing the strength of the Ancient Communicator to the forefront, and in 1865, (1 + 8 + 6 + 5 = 20 = 2 + 0 = 2) a 2 year, the year of his death, the nation would adopt the Thirteenth Amendment to the Constitution proclaiming an end to slavery. 1865 is a 2 year, it relates to the dreamweaver, the intuitive who manifests a dream from the inner worlds to the outer. Thus he fulfilled his mission with this amendment by mastering his dream of freedom for men of every race. (A woman's freedom would come later.)

Briefly there are four other presidents who carry a number that relates to the 44th presidency. But the number 44 is well beyond any of these because it is a master number (all double digit numbers are not resolved to anything lower, they are consider master numbers.) I will explain this in my next blog, along with details on the four other presidents who have similar overtones through the number 8:

Martin Van Buren, the 8th president,
Andrew Johnson, the 17th president,
William Howard Taft, the 26th president, and
Lyndon B. Johnson, the 35th president will share something with the man elected to the 44th persidency.

To be continued....
